A 5-kilometer run to raise funds for two community agencies assisting young children and their mothers will take place at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The inaugural “Run Like a Mother 5K” is set to start at 8 a.m., and will meet at the patio of the Lower Commons on campus. The cost to enter is $10, and runners and walkers are invited to participate. Online registration may be done on the Run Like a Mother 5k Run/Walk Eventbrite web page.

Complimentary parking will be in Lot D.

The event is sponsored by CSUSB Eta Sigma Gamma and HSCI 404 (Women’s Health Issues) students. Proceeds will benefit Soul Food for Your Baby and Time for Change Foundation, two community organizations dedicated to providing programs and services to assist women and children of color.

Soul Food for Your Baby is a community program that empowers African American families to breastfeed with their heart, body, and soul, and the Time for Change Foundation is a local, nonprofit dedicated to helping homeless women and children achieve self-sufficiency.
