The EU must defend Iran’s interest under JCPOA, CSUSB history professor saysPress TVNov. 3, 2018David Yaghoubian, CSUSB professor of history, told Press TV that the European Union needs to safeguard Iran’s interests under the 2015 nuclear deal. “The agenda of the EU and of some European governments is, of course, different than the agenda of European companies. The European companies are basically interested in revenue, profit, whereas the EU and some European countries are interested in using this as an opportunity to push back against American unilateralism, to certainly maintain the JCPOA, and to maintain their sovereignty and their economic rights,” Yaghoubian said. “The EU needs to provide sufficient protection and incentives to European companies so that they will either continue to do business or start fresh business with … Iran.” Press TV is a 24-hour English language news and documentary network affiliated with Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.
