Ron Pendleton, 74, professor of Science, Math & Technology Education in the College of Education, passed away on January 29, 2015. Born in Los Angeles in 1940, he was a 35-year resident of Riverside County.  He began working at CSUSB in 1981 and had just completed his 34th year.  His obituary noted that he “worked primarily with mature adults who have been successful in business and industry and want to become teachers.” His formal education included an A.A. (Education) from El Camino Community College; a B.A. (Psychology) from Humboldt State; an M.A. (Industrial Arts) from CSU-Long Beach; and a PhD (Education/Technology) from Arizona State University, Tempe.  He had also graduated from the USAF Officer Training School, the USAF Pilot Training School and all three levels of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Law Enforcement Training Academy. He was involved in local arts and community/business organizations along with serving as a reserve deputy sheriff for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.  He was passionate about aikido and earned his black belt two days after his 72nd birthday. He was survived by his wife, Elin Pendleton; his friend Debbi Motts; his daughter Tammy Bontranger; his sister Susan Kenney and her husband Jim Kenney; a nephew Scott Miller and his wife Tracy Miller; and a great niece and nephew, Jarad and Emily Miller.
