Larry Sharp, former vice president of University Advancement, passed away on February 16, 2015. Born in 1942, his obituary described him as “a beloved father, grandfather, and husband” even before the fact that he was “a respected businessman, community leader, and philanthropist.” He was the recipient of numerous awards over his lifetime. He began working in the credit union industry at the age of 23 at Solar Federal Credit Union, then moved to San Diego Navy Credit Union and finally Arrowhead (then San Bernardino County Central) Credit Union.  His final position was serving CSUSB’s Advancement operations as vice president. Along with his credit union work, he held leadership positions in a number of area business and community organizations and contributed to numerous charitable organizations. He loved being able to fly as a pilot and owned several planes.  However, the heart and passion of his life was his family. He was survived by his wife of 35 years, Cassie Sharp (his first wife predeceased him) and his five children:  Darcy Cloutier-Fernald, Keith Sharp, Kenneth Sharp, Jason Cloutier and Jon Cloutier.  His grandchildren included Harrison Sharp, Xander Fernald, Logan Cloutier, Hannah Cloutier, Dylan Bueter and Lando Bueter.  Two of his four sisters survived him—Louis Justice and Verna White; Mary Kalin and Dorothy Haynes preceded him in death.
