A series of “flash lectures” will take place at the Asian American Pacific Islander Lit Pop-Up Library in the Asian & Pacific Islander Center in the Santos Manuel Student Union on Tuesday, May 21, Wednesday, May 22, and Thursday, May 23. A collaborative effort between the English 319: AAPI Literature and the SMSU/Cross Cultural Center and Asian & Pacific Islander Center, the AAPI Lit Pop-Up Library aims to generate dialogue about the literatures, histories, and identities of Asian and Pacific Islander diasporic communities. This assemblage of books, on loan from educators, artists, and authors from the local region and beyond, includes classic works such as Maxine Hong Kingston's 'Woman Warrior' and Carlos Bulosan's 'America is in the Heart,' and contemporary works such as the poetry series of Craig Santos Perez and 'Other Words for Grief' by CSUSB alumna Lisa Marie Rollins. - Wednesday, May 22, 5/22, 5 p.m.: Poetry/Spoken Word Cipher
- Thursday May 23, 10 a.m.: Film screening, “The Fall of the Hotel”
- Thursday, May 23, 11:20 a.m.: Flash lecture, by Jasmine Lee
