Dave Stockton Coyote Classic raises $250,000 for student-athlete scholarships, including $150,000 endowment for the William H. Colley Golf Scholarship
Celebrating its 23rd year, the CSUSB Athletics Dave Stockton Coyote Classic had its most successful event to date, raising more than $250,000 that will have a direct impact on student-athlete scholarships. This year, the golf program received a $150,000 endowment for the William H. Colley Golf Scholarship. The new scholarship is named for William H. Colley, a veteran of the U.S. Marines who later taught elementary school and then became a principal in the Orange County Unified School District. An avid golfer who won several prestigious events in northern California and southern Oregon, Colley shared his love of the game with his grandson Kyle Emerson, who is the men’s head golf coach at Cal State San Bernardino and a CSUSB graduate.
