Find Dr. Tran's faculty page here, and her previous monograph here, Concubines in Court: Marriage and Monogamy in Twentieth-Century China (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015). This presentation, titled, "Ethnic Chinese and the Politics of the Indochinese Refugee Crisis," builds on Dr. Tran's ongoing research on ethnic Chinese in Vietnam, global connections, and oral history. She currently has a book in progress with Cambridge University Press, and her research has been funded by fellowships and grants from the American Council of Learned Societies, the American Philosophical Society, Fulbright Association, and the Association for Asian Studies.
