🟡Murals and Meanings: Academic/Cultural Art Workshop (YOURS Program)
February 13, 2025
12:00pm - 1:00pm
PL-293
This Pre-Educational Trip Workshop prepares students for an immersive exploration of Historic Filipinotown by highlighting the role of art in reflecting resilience and identity within the Filipino community. Through discussions on iconic murals like the "Philippine-American War" and "Our Lady of Antipolo," students will learn how murals serve as powerful forms of storytelling, cultural pride, and resistance. They will engage in a creative activity where they design their own cultural murals, reflecting on personal identity and heritage, inspired by the murals they'll see during the trip. This event is open to all individuals.
