Big Bear Service and Hike - SBC
We will spend the morning volunteering for the Southern California Mountains Foundation by removing invasive weeds on the Alpine Pedal Path across the street from the Big Bear Discovery Center. We will then have lunch and check out the Big Bear Discovery Center before hiking the Cougar Crest Trail to the Pacific Crest Trail. The hike is 5 miles out and back with 600 feet elevation gain. We will travel through a forest of pines, cedars and junipers and be treated to views of the lake. We will end our day in the Big Bear Village where you can do some shopping and get a treat (ice cream is our favorite) before we return to CSUSB.
