Connecting the Dots in PRC Agriculture and Politics: Systems Thinking in the Mao and Reform Eras

This presentation will trace the history of systems thinking in PRC agricultural science and politics from the 1950s through the present day, arguing that integration was a core scientific/ political value of the Mao era and that Mao-era systems thinking built an important foundation for reform-era technocratic developments.
