San Francisco is a beautiful city, consistently ranked as America’s favorite cities, with many adventures to offer. On this 3-night 4-day camping trip we will explore the best the city has to offer by foot and by boat. Highlights include: cable car ride, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Golden Gate Bridge, walking over the Golden Gate Bridge, ferrying across the bay, Alcatraz Island, hiking in Muir Woods, Coit Tower and more! Don’t miss out on this fun filled trip to one of the most iconic cities in America!

Itinerary 

Day 1: We load the van and drive 440 miles to Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio of san Francisco stopping for lunch along the way. When we arrive we will pitch our tents and prepare dinner before we take a sunset hike to Baker Beach were we will be treated to some of the best views on the Golden Gate Bridge. We will end the night around the campfire eating smores. 

Day 2: After breakfast at camp and packing lunches we will head over to Alcatraz Island for a morning tour of "The Rock". When we return from the Island we will visit Coit Tower for a unique view of the city and walk over to Chinatown (the largest outside of Asia and oldest in North America). From here we continue to Union Square where we board a world famous cable car and ride it to famous crooked Lombard Street. We will end our day by exploring and eating our way through Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square (ohh Ice Cream!). 

Day 3: Today we walk over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. We will then take a ferry back across the bay to the historic Ferry Building to check out the shops. We will make our way back to where we began and head to the our next campsite for dinner and relaxation.  

Day 4: We pack up camp after breakfast and hike in he redwoods. After lunch we depart for home.

Food
8 meals are included, starting with diner on day 1 (3 breakfast, 3 lunch, and 2 dinners)
3 meals are not included (1 lunch and 2 dinners) 

Hygiene and Comfort
We will be staying in reserved campsites. The campsites are within close proximity to drinking water, flush toilets and there are NO showers. You will have the option to share a tent with one or two people or sleep out under the cover of the stars.  Light weight tents, warm synthetic sleeping bags, foam pads and ground tarps will be provided to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The ground consists of soft and hard soil.
