Made in California: Artists in Conversation
Made in California: Artists in Conversation
The exhibition, Made in California exhibition, currently on view at RAFFMA presents Wayne Shimabukuro’s insightful portrait photographs of close to forty renowned California artists alongside their often iconic works of different genres and mediums, all made in California from the mid-1960s through today. The result is eclectic, very Southern California! But what does it mean to be a California artist? How is the artists’ relationship with the Golden State reflected in their work? What defines Southern California art scene and art?
Join us for a special event in conjunction with the exhibition, in which Wayne Shimabukuroand five of the artists in the exhibition: Blue McRight, HK Zamani, Hung Viet Nguyen, Monique Prieto and Phyllis Green will share their art and experiences in a fun and informal panel discussion.
