Grab a popsicle and join the CSUSB Staff Council, Augie’s family members and friends on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 2-3 p.m. around campus, as we honor the legacy of kindness that Augie Hartung emulated.
Augie served as associate director of Facilities Services from 2001-2006 and exemplified the concept of caring and service through his thoughtful acts, such as handing out popsicles on hot days.
In 2006, the campus created the bi-annual “Augie Award” to honor his memory and celebrate those who best emulate the qualities Augie shared of being Affirming, Understanding, Giving, Inspirational and Exceptional. Nominations for this award will be accepted again, starting next year.

Wild Song, in front of the Santos Manuel Student Union;
the Legacy Fountain, near Physical Education Building;
north of the Administration Building; and
at the Peace Garden next to the Chemical Sciences Building.
