Pride Prom

The Pride Center’s annual Pride Prom is a second-chance prom and opportunity for couples of all sexual orientations – gay, straight, bi and lesbian – to celebrate their accomplishments and the end of the year! Second-chance proms are significant because students are encouraged to bring their partner of any gender; these opportunities have often been limited for queer students in high school, so Pride Prom reframes the traditional prom experience with an exciting and inclusive environment. A night of music, dance, food and festivity, Pride Prom is also an important opportunity for queer and heterosexual students to build community and cultivate friendships. As students continue to applaud Pride Prom for its costume contests, DJ selection and positive atmosphere, it becomes increasingly important to recognize this program as a fixture of coyote culture.
