AVID will conduct a training on Culturally Relevant Teaching in COE (room to be confirmed) on February 1, from 9 am to 4 pm. The training will include research based strategies, AVID strategies, and cultural awareness strategies. The trainer will be Dr. Rachel Juarez-Torres, who has taught at the University of Texas Permian Basin.
Interested faculty please reply so that I can get a seat count in order to allow a maximum number of our teacher candidates to also attend.
