Hispanic/ Latino Council Meeting

Hispanic/ Latino Council Meeting

February 14, 2017
12:00pm - 2:00pm
SMSU 219 Boardroom

The Council serves as a representative body of Latino-based and interest organizations within/across CSUSB and/or any organization that will benefit and drive for the success of the Latino community at large. The council works to fulfill our mission as an umbrella organization by uniting the Hispanic/ Latino organizations on campus. Among its primary goals are to increase the recruitment, retention and college completion of Latinos at CSUSB and promote the well-being of the Latino community and other communities’ university-wide through unified action.

A member of each organization would comprise the Council and would meet monthly throughout the year. A primary responsibility of this union is to collaborate on events, programs, and activities; the council also would meet to discuss services and programs that CSUSB provides and serves to provide guidance to each other as well as to the campus as a whole. This council would also participate in Latino Leadership Retreats. The strength and collaboration of this group unifies Latino/a forces across campus and helps to enhance unity, service, and social responsibility.
