Closets are for Clothes: Being a Person of Color in LGBT America

Dr. Battle, a former president of The Association of Black Sociologists (ABS), is coming to campus on October 11, 2017. In his talk, "Closets are for Clothes: Being a Person of Color in LGBT America," Dr. Battle discusses his findings from The Social Justice Sexuality Project,one of the largest ever national surveys of Black, Latina/o, and Asian and Pacific Islander, and multiracial lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people.

Juan Battle is a Professor of Sociology, Urban Education, & Social Welfare at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (C.U.N.Y.). He is also the Coordinator of the Africana Studies Certificate Program.
