Itinerary

Day 1: Participants will meet at the Student Recreation Wellness Center at 8:00am. We will then drive 3 & 1/2 hours, approximately 169 miles, to downtown Santa Barbara. Upon arriving in Santa Barbara we will have a chance to explore downtown and grab a bite to eat. At roughly 2:30pm we will then meet back with the group and spend the rest of the afternoon kayaking. After spending about 3 hours kayaking, we’ll load the kayaks back onto the trailer and head off to Carpinteria State Beach where we will camp for the night. Once arriving at the campsite, it is a group effort to set up camp and cook dinner. The rest of the evening is spent around the campfire sharing stories and eating s’mores.

Day 2: Rise and shine at 8:00am to enjoy breakfast and breakdown camp by 9:00am. We will then prepare for another adventure out on the water. Everyone will make a sack lunch that they will take with them out on the water before leaving camp. While out on the water we will group up and enjoy their sack lunch. We will prepare everything for the drive home by 300pm. On the way back to CSUSB, we will stop along road and grab a bite to eat. You will arrive back at the SRWC at approximately 8:00pm.
