Bridge to Nowhere Hike
This hike takes us along the east fork of the San Gabriel River to and through the steepest river gorge in Southern California. Expect to get wet as we cross the river numerous times. An extra pair of shoes is recommended. The hike is 9 miles round trip with 1000 ft of elevation gain. One of the highlights of the hike is a mysterious bridge built over the east fork in 1936, which has no road, it was meant to be part of a road connecting the San Gabriel Valley with Wrightwood in the late 1930s. So come join us, CSUSB Outdoors, on our Bridge to Nowhere Hike; hopefully we don’t get lost on the way to our mysterious destination.
