Yosemite National Park is one of the first wilderness parks and most popular in the United States. Yosemite is best known for its waterfalls, but within it’s nearly 1,200 square miles you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more. While there, we will snowshoe backpacking in the park and spend a night in the wilderness. For our first and last night we stay at the cozy Yosemite Bug Resort.

Itinerary
Day 1: We will gather at the SRWC at 9:00am to go over the trip gear and make sure everyone is prepared for our winter adventure. We will depart for the Yosemite Bug Resort stopping for lunch along the way. We will spend the evening making dinner and hanging out in the resort’s common area before heading to our tent cabin for a good night’s rest.

Day 2: Today we’ll eat a healthy breakfast, repack the van and depart for the trailhead. Our snowshoeing backpacking adventure begins at the Yosemite Ski and Snowboard area where we will strap on our packs and load our sleds. First we follow the snow covered road ¾ mile to the summit meadow where we leave the road and make our way to the magnificent Dew Point just 3.5 miles from where we began. Upon arriving we will set up camp, prepare dinner and enjoy Yosemite’s winter beauty.

Day 3: Today we will prepare a hot breakfast and enjoy some more time at the point before breaking camp and returning to our vehicle along a different path. We then will head into the valley to check out a few of the sights before returning to the Yosemite Bug for a celebratory dinner and soak in the hot tub before heading to bed in our HEATED tent cabins!

Day 4: Today our adventure comes to an end. After breakfast we will explore more of the park before lunch. After lunch we head back to CSUSB, stopping for dinner along the way.
