The purpose of the event is to empower CSUSB students to develop themselves as professionals by leveraging CSUSBs premiere services and programs offered through the Career Center and campus-wide partners. (Advising, Resource Centers, Student Employment, etc.)
Career Readiness is the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace. (NACE)

What can we do for you? [Overview of Services]
What is your next step--- Internship, Job, or grad school? In this session, you will learn about the FREE services, resources, tools, workshops, events, and Career Readiness programs the Career Center offers to achieve personal and professional goals.

Internships that Pay [Internships & FinAid]
Start working before you start working! Relevant work experience will boost your application, join us in this session to learn how to begin acquiring experience in your field of study… and maybe get paid for it too!

Dissecting Careers and Majors at CSUSB [two sessions]
Don’t know what to do with your major? Choosing a major is not the same as choosing a career.  In this session, students will explore strategies on choosing a major and career options using their major.
Time: 2:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m & 3:45 p.m. – 4:15 p.m

Why Mentors Matter
Mentors are professionals who have years of experience and are willing to share their knowledge with you for your future career success.  Come learn how you can strategically identify a mentor that will help you reach your career goals.

Staff/faculty workshop descriptions
Overview of Services/Handshake Exploration
In this session, staff and faculty will be able to better understand the career readiness services and resources that are offered to students through CSUSB’s premier programs campus-wide. Attendees will be taught the basics of navigating Handshake from the staff/faculty side and learn how to access the website through the career services account and the importance of using Handshake as a centralized job board for all CSUSB student positions.

Behind the Scenes of Career/Major Exploration
In this session participants will learn valuable information about how career counseling helps students with major-related questions, including how to connect majors to careers, choosing or changing a major. Also, how to leverage campus partnerships to empower student success.

The Impact of Internships
Internships are a way to gain relevant work experience, get your “foot in the door,” and develop your professional network. Learn about the internship opportunities, resources, and tools that are offered at the Career Center to prepare students for this fast-changing job market.

Partnering for Career Readiness
Discover opportunities to align department  efforts and goals in support of student career readiness. Learn how the Career Center can partner with your department to help; from networking events, to counseling appointments and much more! The Career Center offers multiple services and resources that can enhance your program and prepare students before they graduate.

Work Study, Internships, On-campus Student Employment, Oh My!
This session will cover the diff erences between Federal Work Study, internships, state vs. non-state (auxiliary) on-campus student employment. This session will also cover the basics of gaining access and navigating Handshake from an on-campus employer perspective.
