Film and Discussion: King in the Wilderness
You’re cordially invited to join us for a film screening and discussion of King in the Wilderness, a new documentary that looks at the last three years of Dr. Martin LutherKing Jr.’s short but extraordinary life, covering his work to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965, his opposition to the Vietnam War, his Poor People’s Campaign, and his tragic assassination—an event that profoundly scarred the nation.
Los Angeles Times film critic Kenneth Turan called King in the Wilderness an “exceptional documentary,” noting that “to understand and experience [its] powerful emotional charge, it simply must be seen.”
Dr. Rafik Mohamed, Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, will facilitate the post-screening discussion. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to theconversation.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be offered as part of the program.
Student sign-in sheets will be available to faculty who wish to offer extra credit.
