Yosimar Reyes: We've Never Needed Papers to Thrive

April 30, 2019
5:00pm - 8:00pm
SMSU Theatre (SMSU 107)

On behalf of the Undocumented Student Success Center and the SMSU Queer and Transgender Resource Center, we invite you to our event hosting poet and activist, Yosimar Reyes.
Yosimar is a nationally-acclaimed Poet and Public Speaker. Born in Guerrero, Mexico, and raised in Eastside San Jose, Yosimar explores the themes of migration and sexuality in his work. The Advocate named Reyes one of '13 LGBT Latinos Changing the World' and Remezcla included Reyes on their list of '10 Up And Coming Latinx Poets You Need To Know.' Reyes explores the concept of joy and power in undocumented communities in an attempt to shift the deficit dialogue we have about undocumented individuals.
