On Wednesday, May 22, the distinguished investigative journalist Lowell Bergman will be the key speaker at ''The Abdication of Truth and the Decline of Public Trust'' event in the Santos Manuel Student Union Theatre. Bergman’s awards include a Pulitzer, Emmys, Peabodys and many others. He is the Reva and David Logan Distinguished Chair in Investigative Journalism at the Graduate School of Journalism, UC Berkeley. His professional credits include executive producer and consultant on FRONTLINE, original producer of ABC’s 20/20, senior producer of CBS News’ 60 Minutes, as well as investigative reporter for the New York Times. Bergman will be interviewed by Professor Tom McWeeney of the JHBC Department of Public Administration on “the ethical mandate for public leaders” and “public sector ethics and the Mueller report.” There will be a faculty panel and ample opportunities for audience questions, as well as a reception following the event.
