Our San Bernardino, Nuestro is a collaboration between student-run multimedia organization, The Coyote Pack and Dr. Conlisk Gallegos. It will take place tomorrow from 2-4PM in PL-025 as part of the Tech or Treat Series made possible by the support of Dr. Samuel Sudhakar, Dr. Mihaela Popescu, and the CSUSB ITS Team.
As part of my contributions to the San Bernardino community I propose the use of multimedia production, technology and community interaction as a method of experiencing academic research, theory and findings; an alternative to the individual experience of reading it.
Our San Bernardino, Nuestro is a multimedia performance juxtaposing representations of diversity in virtual reality (in oculus), to sharing personal testimony + art collages (in giant projectors and global audio). By listening to our students' (rarely shared) experiences, we can begin to realize that multiple and diverse approaches are vital in tackling diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Open to the public. Free taquitos and ice cream.
