Communication Studies MA program kicks off Fall semester with Zoom dinner party and virtual trivia night
The Master of Arts in Communication Studies program usually kicks off the Fall term with a graduate student and faculty potluck. Obviously we can't get together in person to share dishes these days, though. So, on Friday, August 28, Communication Studies faculty and graduate students shared screens, stories, and plenty of laughs with a Zoom dinner party and virtual trivia night.
Thanks again to everyone who was able to join for the dinner party, trivia, or both. Congratulations to "The Avengers" team of Jo Anna, David, and Bekah on your trivia triumph (though there are noted rumors of your team's Google use). And big thanks to the folks at teambuilding.com, especially Carly for setting things up, and Jim for hosting such a fun event.
We're mindful that social relationships and smart, informal conversations with colleagues are an important part of graduate school. So, if you'd like to be involved in organizing a remote "brown bag," movie night, or some other curricular or extra-curricular activity for the COMM MA program's community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni, please reach out to our Graduate Coordinator, Dr T.C. Corrigan (corrigan@csusb.edu).
Hope to see you next time!
Disclosure: Teambuilding.com provided their Virtual Trivia event free of charge on the condition that we post about the event and link to their website; however, teambuilding.com had no hand in the content of this news item.
