MacGillivray's Warbler

The MacGillivray's Warbler is a rare spring and fall migrant on campus from late April to mid May and in September. It prefers to forage in dense, low-growing vegetation. It is a common spring and fall migrant throughout, and breeds locally in the mountains during summer in southern California.

Male MacGillivray's Warbler can be identified by their olive green upperparts, bright yellow underparts, dark gray hood (head and neck), and white eye arcs. Females are similar to males but with much paler gray hoods.
