The Bewick's Wren is a common, year-round resident on campus (but uncommon from March to July, when it may be breeding). It is a common breeding resident in southern California in scrub habitats from the mountains to the coast.
High Count: 11, Average Count: 2-5
Bewick's Wrens can be identified by their gray underparts, brown upperparts and white throat and supercilium (line above the eye). They (and wrens in general) have a tendency to skulk in dense vegetation, oftentimes making them difficult to see.
