Bushtit

The Bushtit is an uncommon, year-round breeding resident on campus. It is a common breeding resident in southern California from the mountains to the coast.

Bushtits can be identified by their small size, overall pale brown plumage, and relatively long tail. Adult females have white eyes whereas males and juvenile females have dark eyes. Bushtits tend to move around in large flocks, and are often located by listening for their high-pitched, twittering calls.
