The Ash-throated Flycatcher is an uncommon spring migrant and summer visitor on campus from April to mid August, with a few additional records of fall migrants through October. It is a common spring and fall migrant and breeding bird in southern California, nesting in various types of woodlands.

Ash-throated Flycatchers have brown upperparts, a pale gray throat and breast, a pale yellow belly, and rufous edges to the wings and tail feathers.
