The Lincoln's Sparrow is an uncommon wintering bird on campus from September to April. Lincoln's Sparrows can be found regularly in the CSUSB Preserve, and occasionally in the landscaped shrubs and hedges on campus. It is a fairly common migrant and winter visitor in southern California, and breeds locally in the mountains during the summer.High Count: 8, Average Count: 2-3Lincoln's Sparrows can be identified by their buff-colored breast with fine dark streaking; the head and upperparts are gray with black and rusty brown streaking.
