Southern California

Some of them were here before anyone else. They came on foot, they came by wagon train, they came by locomotive and they came by Route 66. And they’re not letting up. Southern California’s growth requires more and more coordination, and universities like CSUSB have a vital part in seeing that it all works. The region’s place in business is a lure in itself, and people come to the area to make an impact in international commerce, light and heavy industry, technology, entertainment and arts, sports and recreation, education and other fields. Along with this are Southern California’s climate and environment, which keep many native Southern Californians here, and which are often irresistible for those not originally from California.

Chasing Arrows

In celebration of Earth Day, Cal State San Bernardino encouraged chasing arrows with the creation of a “human recycling triangle” symbol on the lawn of the university’s Pfau Library. Darleen Stoner, professor of environmental education, set up the design and more than 100 students, faculty and staff filled it in, while campus photographers shot the image from the top of the library.
