2. Executive Council Meeting (April 28-29) and Budget
Dr. Karnig summarized the April 28-29 Executive Council meeting, which touched on legislative issues and the Governor’s actions as well as fiscal changes across the CSU system in the past two years. The Administrative Council then discussed CSUSB’s budget history, the operating fund deficit history, and the U.S. Department of Labor employment status. The April meeting also included a discussion of the proposed Performing Arts Building with legislators, implementation of a system-wide student complaint policy, and technology and data security.
3. Policy on Guidelines for Implementation of Campus Fees
No comments were submitted to Dr. Craig on the policy. The policy was approved by the Administrative Council. It will be sent to the President for signature.
4. Executive Order 1037 – Withdrawals During the Final Twenty Percent of Instruction
This new policy will establish the maximum number of withdrawals that students can have through their careers (28 units). This will affect only a handful of students. The question was posed whether this policy should be centralized. Dean Clark will send the text of the Order electronically to Yolanda Girard for further discussion in a couple of weeks.
5. SOAR 2 Success
This two-day program for first-time Freshmen is scheduled for May 16 and June 6.
