Welcome to the Physics Solid State Research Laboratory at California State University San Bernardino.
We conduct original scientific research with a special emphasis towards involving undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds with meaningful research experiences. Our main strength is experimental, however we also dabble in theory some.
Presently we have three main areas of research. Fuel Cells, Ferroelectrics and Piezoelectrics. However, we are very curious people, in more ways than one, so we are open to other areas of research. We often collaborate and run samples for other researchers throughout the world. You can learn more about the current areas of research by following the "Research" link.
We enjoy collaborations with may other researchers at other universities and researchers throughout the world from many disciplines, including archeology, geology, biology, chemistry, computer science, and engineering to name a few. If you are a researcher in another CSUSB department, or outside CSUSB you may find the links to our instrumentation and facilities of interest. In those pages, I attempt to provide some clues as to what these instruments might be good for.
If you are a current or future CSUSB student and, after browsing this web site you are interested in participating in research, please take a close look at the "apply" section of this web site.
Present and past funding sources include:
Our research labs are located on the CSUSB main campus. One lab is in the Basement of the Biology Building (BI 006). The other lab is located in the Chemical Sciences building (CS 230).
