Office of Academic Research

The Office of Academic Research plans strategies to advance the university's research agenda, encompassing faculty and student research, scholarship and creative activities. The OAR has oversight of the Research and Sponsored Programs Office, and supports internal faculty development programs and research compliance committees.

Research and Sponsored Programs

The Research and Sponsored Programs Office helps the CSUSB community obtain grants, contracts and partnerships aimed at instructional, creative, technology transfer and community service research. The office can assist with and oversee details such as grant proposal preparation, manuscript writing, technical and financial support, budget analysis, and institutional review and clearance, as well as safety, ethical and regulatory compliance.

Office of Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research at CSUSB generates and disseminates enrollment data, studies, surveys and corresponding reports for analysis. Using this, academic planners, faculty, staff and administrators can decide on necessary or useful improvements within the institution.

Office of Research Development

The Office of Research Development (ORD) was funded by the National Institutes of Health to enhance health-related, biomedical and behavioral research by faculty and students at CSUSB. The ORD works with the Research and Sponsored Programs Office to find external funding opportunities that match the research interests of faculty. The office also identifies potential collaborations, and helps CSUSB faculty and other researchers start pilot research projects that can lead to larger research projects.
