CSUSB Make a Gift Now!

Giving to the College of Education

Private gifts to the College of Education help to provide the needed resources to fulfill our commitment to our students and to our community. These gifts allow us to enhance our educational programs, scholarships and embrace opportunities to serve and assist others.

Cash gifts can be made on-line through the College of Education website and will allow you to decide how and where to best direct your gift. A cash gift is only one of the many ways to provide a gift to the College of Education. Please visit our University Development website under “ways to give” to view the many options that are open to your generosity. You can also make a planned gift that will ensure income for you, but provide a legacy for the future. More information can be found at our University Development website under “gift planning”.

For more information or assistance in submitting a monetary gift, or a pledge to the College of Education, please contact Yvonne Salmon at (909) 537-5299, or via e-mail at ysalmon@csusb.edu.

Thank you for making a difference for our students.

College of Education Funding Priorities for 2008-2009:

Technology Education Integration Lab:

The mission of the Technology Education Integration Lab is to increase the rate of Technological Literacy and support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives within our community through the education of youth, young adults, and the individuals who teach them. Students are given an opportunity to learn about the processes, practical use, and application of knowledge related to technologies that are needed to solve problems and extend human capabilities. The lab provides a facility, resources, and foundation to enhance and encourage science, math, and technological learning for K-12 students and the community. It also provides a venue for technological businesses to showcase new technologies and their practical use to teachers, students, and their community.

Assessment, Diagnostic and Treatment Lab:

The Assessment, Diagnostic and Treatment Lab at Cal State, San Bernardino provides assessment and intervention services for families with school aged children and enriches the education of future education professionals through hands-on post-graduate training experiences with our region’s neediest students. The Center is an educational and advocacy resource for parents, teachers, counselors and other community members. We provide information and services to help school aged children meet their full potential and increase parent’s engagement and commitment.

Watson & Associates Literacy Center:

The Literacy Center offers interactive tutoring to help children meet their literacy needs through specifically designed programs to improve and enhance their reading, writing and speaking skills. The Literacy Center presently provides individualized literacy assessment and instruction for 300-400 children in grades K-12 from the Inland Empire during each school year. With the addition of the new facility that opened in September 2008, we are projecting a child enrollment increase of 50%.

The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree program:

As one of the only seven California State University campuses to offer a doctorate in education, the program prepares students to be reflective practitioners who will enhance their knowledge, skills and dispositions as leaders in the schools. The program is focused on practice and applies research tools to the challenges administrators confront in real world contexts in advancing important reforms and improving student achievement. It also prepares PreK-12 and community college leaders within a framework of both common and distinctive issues affecting education in the two different sectors.
