BTSA (Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment)
BTSA is a state-funded induction
program, co-sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE)
and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) designed to support the professional
development of newly-credentialed, beginning teachers and fulfill
the requirements for the California Clear Multiple and Single Subjects Credentials.
California Teacher Recruitment
Program
The California Teacher Recruitment Program (CTRP), operated by the Tulare County
Office of Education, is pleased to serve the Central Valley, Salinas Valley,
and Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties. The CTRP is dedicated
to the recruitment, selection, employment and professional growth of quality
teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals. We provide assistance to school
districts and teacher preparation agencies in seeking, screening, referring and
supporting all teachers to comply with the requirements of the No Child Left
Behind Act.
The Center for Teaching English Learners
The Center for Teaching English Learners serves as a resource center for
curriculum design in intercultural and second-language education for K-12
educators, so prospective and practicing teachers whose classroom teaching
is impacted by the presence of culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD)
learners can locate innovative, language- and culture-specific strategies
and teaching materials.
Center for Research in Integrated Learning and Teaching
Center for the Study of Correctional Education
In 1993, California State University, San Bernardino established the Center
for the Study of Correctional Education. The Center provides services for
veteran and aspiring teachers of academic, vocational, and social education
and for correctional education administrators who work in local, state,
federal and private institutions.

Council
The Education Leadership Council serves in an advisory capacity
to the Dean of the College of Education.
The Journal of Latinos and Education (JLE)
The Journal of Latinos and Education (JLE) provides a cross-, multi-,
and interdisciplinary forum for scholars and writers from diverse disciplines
who share a common interest in the analysis, discussion, critique, and
dissemination of educational issues that impact Latinos. There are four
broad arenas which encompass most issues of relevance: (1) Policy, (2)
Research, (3) Practice, and (4) Creative & Literary works.
National Latino Education Network
The NLEN, which was formed in 2003, is comprised of a broad spectrum
of researchers, teaching professionals and educators, academics,
scholars, administrators, independent writers and artists, policy
and program specialists, students, parents, families, civic leaders,
activists, and advocates. In short, those sharing a common interest
in educational issues that impact Latinos.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Integration Lab
The mission of the Technology Education Integration Lab is to increase the rate of Technological Literacy and support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives within our community through the education of youth, young adults, and the individuals who teach them. Students are given an opportunity to learn about the processes, practical use, and application of knowledge related to technologies that are needed to solve problems and extend human capabilities. The lab provides a facility, resources, and foundation to enhance and encourage science, math, and technological learning for K-12 students and the community. It also provides a venue for technological businesses to showcase new technologies and their practical use to teachers, students, and their community.
University Center for Developmental Disabilities
The University Center for Developmental Disabilities (UCDD) subscribes to a philosophy of positive behavioral interventions. Such interventions are intended to promote the dignity of each consumer and be as non-invasive as possible. UCDD believes that all consumers have the ability to increase their independence and maturity. To accomplish this goal, UCDD utilizes Functional Analysis to understand the structure and function of challenging behaviors in order to teach new or replacement behaviors as effective alternatives to the identified problem behaviors.
Watson & Associates Literacy Center
The Watson & Associates Literacy Center offers interactive tutoring to help children meet their literacy needs through specifically designed programs to improve and enhance their reading, writing and speaking skills. Students in kindergarden through 12th grade, as well as adults, benefit from working with experts who pinpoint each person's specific abilities and needs, and then design a program to achieve these goals. All tutoring instruction is overseen by fully credentialed licensed specialists including teachers and master students.
Wisdom in Education
Wisdom in Education is an online journal that
publishes full-length articles; essays; reviews of books, films,
videos, software and curricula; interviews, conversations; and relevant
artistic expression. Its purpose is to interface academic and practitioner
perspectives within the educational communities of the California
State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) service region. Articles
range from scholarly and action research of teaching and learning
to broad essays on pedagogically important issues that focus on specific
teaching issues or techniques, to relevant creative expression. The
general intent is to share theoretically stimulating and practically
useful information and advice and perspectives, with and among educators.
The variety of formats is intended to encourage inclusion of diverse
voices and expressions relevant to learning.
